COVID-19 UPDATE – March 16, 2022

Dear Families and Friends,

We are so grateful to report it has been over 2 weeks since our last positive staff case and 5 weeks since our last resident recovered and our covid unit was closed.  There have been a lot of news stories of guidance changes for the general public from the CDC in the last month, so we thought it would be helpful to provide some clarification on guidance and requirements for healthcare settings and Santa Marta protocols.

Santa Marta Healthcare and Independent Living areas will continue to, at times, have different protocols due to assisted living and skilled nursing regulations and guidance from the state and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)

Current Healthcare protocols:

  • Visitation is fully open–there are currently no restrictions on visitation times, numbers of visitors, or lengths of visits.
  • All visitors must sign in at the kiosk and wear a badge during the visit.
  • Visitors are required to wear a mask inside the community at all times.
  • We request visits continue to be held primarily in the resident’s apartment/room or outdoors, not in common spaces where other residents might gather.
  • Meals and activities remain limited to residents only to allow for more distancing and limit exposure risk to other residents.

As cases continue to decline across the state, and country, we are hopeful that we see updated guidance for Healthcare facilities in the near future. As soon as we receive them we will update our policies and make everyone aware.
