An Update on our COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Procedures

March 13th, 2020

As COVID-19 (Coronavirus) is becoming more widespread in the U.S. and around the world, we are taking steps to keep residents and team members safe, and to ensure we are prepared to mitigate any potential impact on our community.

We are strictly adhering to directives from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local/state health authorities. As information and recommendations about COVID-19 evolve, we will adapt our messaging, guidance and policies accordingly.

Effective immediately, Santa Marta has initiated the following policies and procedures:

  • Visitors will not be permitted, with the exception of those in end-of-life situations or when a visitor is essential for the care of a resident. Any visitor that is permitted to enter the community will be required to complete a health screening that includes having their temperature taken.
  • All outside events and outings are cancelled.
  • All on-campus classes taught by an outside instructor are cancelled.
  • Team members are required to complete a health screening before every shift.
  • To limit outside contact, deliveries are dropped off at the main entrance for the Santa Marta team to deliver.
  • An additional full-time team member has been hired to support cleaning and sanitation of public spaces across campus.

While not a comprehensive list, please be aware the above practices may change depending on the latest developments provided by the CDC and other health authorities. Please continue to visit our website and Facebook page for regular updates and significant changes to our policies.

If you have any questions, concerns or comments, please feel free to contact me directly at the email below.

Sincerely,

Chet Surmaczewicz
